ABOUT US

DLP Surveyors can trace its roots as a South Wales-based firm of chartered surveyors back as far as 1972 upon the formation of the David Little Partnership. The practice subsequently changed its status to a limited company in 2004 and with it a name change to DLP Surveyors.

We are south Wales based independent chartered surveyors. Our aim is to deliver professional quality commercial and residential property advice based upon our in-depth local and regional knowledge. We offer professional expertise across a wide range of commercial and residential property disciplines including agency, development, investment, valuation and professional work. 

We are qualified to offer Energy Performance Certificates for both domestic and non-domestic properties. We also have a dedicated asbestos survey and management department.

Our success is built on our professionalism and we are committed to maintaining rigorous standards. We are members of and are regulated by The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the pre-eminent organisation in the world for professionals in property.

Michael Bruce

Michael Bruce BSc.(Hons.) MRICS

Director - Commercial Property & Valuation

Michael qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1995. He is an RICS Registered Valuer and a director of DLP Surveyors. He has almost 30 years experience in the South Wales commercial property market. 

Michael studied Urban Estate Management at the University Of Glamorgan (now USW). Upon graduation Michael was initially employed by Cooke & Arkwright for 6 years prior to joining Chesterton / BNP Paribas Real Estate as an Associate. After 10 years service Michael subsequently joined DLP Surveyors as a Director to lead the Commercial Agency Department.

Michael has extensive property experience in the South Wales region and provides disposal and acquisition advice to a wide range of national and local clients. He specialises in the sale, leasing and acquisition of commercial buildings and land for occupiers, private property owners, property companies and investment funds.

Michael lives in Cardiff and is married with 3 sons. He also takes a keen interest in spectator sport, particularly the fortunes of Manchester City FC and Glamorgan Cricket.

Martin Shell

RICS HomeBuyer Reports, Energy Performance Certificates & Asbestos Reports

Martin Shell qualified as a mechanical engineer ONC HNC 1985. Martin has extensive property experience in south Wales having worked as a manager of a local estate agents for twenty years before joining DLP Surveyors in 2008. In 2007 he qualified as an accredited energy assessor via NHER and Elmhurst for both domestic and commercial property and in 2008 he qualified as an Asbestos P402 surveyor.

Martin specialises in Energy Performance Certificates both on domestic and commercial property. Clients include The Energy Saving Trust with whom he has worked on target projects.

Martin is also an Associate member of the RICS and is qualified to carry out RICS HomeBuyer reports.

He also carries out a range of asbestos surveys both on domestic and commercial property, from large industrial buildings to single rooms. He also deals with asbestos management and sampling for building refurbishment and demolition. 

Martin is married and spends much of his spare time with his family in Bridgend, occasionally finding the time to fiddle with car engines.
